The Chicago Bears confirmed this morning that defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek is out for the season with a torn ACL. While it hurts the team to lose a defensive playmaker like him… they have done it before. Multiple times.
Last year Dvoracek missed the final four games of the season with torn biceps. In 2007, a torn ACL in Week 1 of regular season play had him on the bench for the rest of the year. In fact, four months after he was drafted in 2006 he had a preseason foot injury that kept him out of commission. In all, the guy has been a Bear for all four years of his professional career and only played in 13 games. He might’ve put up some good stats in those appearances, but we’re pretty sure his medical bills probably equal his overall salary by this point.
