Steve Miller Band guitarist Norton Buffalo recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The 57-year-old said he was told on September 2 that he had Stage 4 lung cancer that spread to his brain. Norton has had to pull out of his upcoming tour of Germany and any future dates because of the cancer. Read more music news.

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that their next “album” will be a series of 44 songs given away for free on the band’s website over the next year or so. When all 44 songs have been released, they will be included in a box set that will be known as Teargarden By Kaleidyscope. The first of the 44 tracks is expected to be released around Halloween.
