[CBS News] You read that headline right. Rapper Method Man from the Grammy-winning Wu-Tang Clan was arrested yesterday morning in New York on felony charges regarding unpaid taxes.
Method Man has blamed his tax issues in the past (yes, he has has issues before) on his chronic marijuana smoking habit. “‘Because I got high, I forgot to pay. It was stupid,’ the rapper told Post reporters in March.”
Method Man, who’s real name is Clifford Smith, has failed to pay upwards of $33,000 in taxes since 2004. If sentenced, he could be looking at over four years in prison.
We suggest calling Wesley Snipes, maybe he has some advice.
[CBS News] On last night’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, former House Majority leader Tom DeLay earned 15 points after dancing with stress fractures on both feet. His doctors advised him not to do it, but he did anyway.
What a dude. He obviously oozes masculinity out of every pore in his body. Because he doesn’t listen to doctors. If Tom DeLay wants to dance, he’s going to dance. No person on the face of the Earth can stop him. He is like a hurricane of Samba energy.
Of course this fails to answer two very important questions: (1) Why Tom DeLay is considered a “star”, and (2) Why we as Americans should care about this at all?
[CBS News] Scientists researching Stonehenge may have uncovered the religious significance to the pagan stone circles listed as one of the Wonders of the World. According to anthropologists, there was a smaller circle of stones nearby to the famed Stonehenge which has been dubbed “Bluehenge”.
Researchers believe that the two circles were extremely important to the religion of prehistoric peoples as a “Domain of the Dead”. AKA, a zombie land.
[CBS News] Every year, over 76 million people are subject to food-based contaminations in the United States according to the CDC. A new study has revealed the Top 10 killers from the grocery store aisle and the most feared food group at your local supermarket: Leafy Greens.
Lettuce and spinach are notorious for being contaminated by different bacteria including E. Coli and Salmonella. While most food poisoning cases only result in stomach aches and unsightly bathroom behavior, some can be very serious turning “into kidney failure, paralysis and even death”.
So if you want to live on the wild side… eat a salad.
For those of you who liked Best in Show, Spinal Tap, and Waiting for Guffman, we think you might get a kick out of this new one. (Untitled) basically says what we’re all thinking when we walk around a modern art exhibit… “people get paid for this?”
The film isn’t slated to open until later this year, but you can watch the trailer above. For more info, check the official site.
