10 Best Performances by The Dan Band

October 23rd, 2009  |  Filed under: Daily Post

Tickets for Jack’s Cheap Christmas go on sale tomorrow morning, and while Cheap Trick and Frank Caliendo are more-or-less household names, our opening act is a bit more obscure. You’ve seen them before, either in the movies or on YouTube. But only Jack has The Dan Band live and in concert. To help jog your memory, here are some of our favorite performances by Dan Finnerty and company.

“Total Eclipse of the Heart”

As a nation, we were first introduced to The Dan Band during their rendition of Bonnie Taylor’s classic at Will Ferrell’s wedding in Old School.

“The Candy Shop”

More recently, the boys have shown up at yet another wedding performance. This time, in the final scene of the breakout comedy, The Hangover. Throwing the 50 Cent song behind some smooth jazz guitar almost makes it sound classy.

“Genie in a Bottle”

This is a clip from The Dan Band’s live concert special on Bravo. We’re not saying that it’s a better performance than Christina Auguliera, but we doubt she can move quite like that.

“Single Ladies”

Yo Beyonce, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but The Dan Band has some of the best dance moves of all time!

“I Wanna Rock U Hard This Christmas”

This is a single off of The Dan Band’s holiday album and we’re pretty sure those who attend the show will enjoy this gem on stage. Maybe without Florence Henderson.

“Hold On”

Another clip from their Bravo special, the intro Dan Finnerty at the beginning really opens up your eyes to the true soul of the performer. And it’s the ability to convey that to an audience that really makes for a real Rock Star.

“Please Don’t Bomb Nobody This Holiday”

To help send a message of world peace, The Dan Band executed a star-studded video asking the world to stop spreading your hate germs. Because it’s making us all ill.

“My Humps”

Filmed at one of their now infamous LA shows, The Dan Band starts where Fergie left off, and turns “My Humps” into the rock anthem for anyone looking to get down and dirty.

“Feel Like Makin’ Love”

The Dan Band takes the stage at Vince Vaughn’s daughter’s Bat Mitzvah in the movie Starsky and Hutch to help her rock into womanhood with a little Roberta Flack.

“Ho, Ho, Ho”

A very special song about a very special prostitute. Can you feel the Holiday love? I know I can.

If you want to see all of these classics live, in all of their obsenity-riddled glory, be sure to pick up tickets ASAP before they’re all gone.
