A hospital in Rhode Island is being investigated for performing 5 wrong surgeries in the past 3 years. The most recent mistake being a surgery that was suppose to be on two different fingers accidentally got performed twice on the same finger! The surgeon eventually repaired both fingers and sent the patient home. If I were you, I would stay far away from this hospital. The hospital was fined $50,000 after brain surgeons operated on the wrong side of patients’ heads in three separate cases in 2007. Scary stuff.
[CBS News] All of us here at JACK are just loving this “Time Machine” series on CBS’ The Early Show featuring live performances by all the bands we play day-in-day-out. Most recently, they featured the Charlie Daniels Band playing their classic hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”.
The song has been one of the most successful country crossovers, becoming a favorite of rockers and farmers nationwide. “Devil” was released in 1979 and quickly stormed the charts peaking at #3 on Billboard’s Hot 100. 30 years after the fact, it remains the band’s most requested song and a staple at rock stations coast-to-coast.
Charlie Daniels, now 73 years old, has received multiple awards for the song including a Grammy and most recently a special award after the song played for the 4-millionth time over the radio airwaves. Not bad for a self-taught musician who wrote a simple song about a fiddle player named Johnny.
Other bands that have been featured on The Early Show’s “Time Machine” series include Foreigner, Def Leppard, and Vanilla Ice.

Some people just shouldn’t operate heavy machinery. This is one of those people.
Last week, a Russian warehouse worker lost control of his forklift, slamming into shelves holding thousands of dollars worth of vodka and cognac. The chain reaction buried the driver under cases upon cases of alcohol. The estimated loss for the alcohol distributer is upwards of $150,000 worth of lost stock.
And you think your hangover last weekend was bad…
For this week’s “Ridiculous ’80s Music Video” we’re highlighting a little known ’80s pop act that time has forgotten. Imagination was a three-piece soul & dance band from the UK who chose their name as a tribute to John Lennon. The band never charted in The States, but their first single, “Body Talk”, got all the way up to #4 on the UK Singles Charts in 1981.
After watching this video, we can see why.
