Alice in Chains recently announced that they will get hit the road again for a North American tour after wrapping up their current string of shows in Europe.

The band will play two shows this month, one at Las Vegas’ The Joint on December 11 and one in Universal City, Calif., at the Gibson Amphitheater on December 12.

Alice in Chains will then kick off the rest of their extended tour at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver on February 2.

The string of shows follows the band’s recent album, Black Gives Way to Blue, their first release in 14 years. It was produced by Nick Raskulinecz in Dave Grohl’s private Studio 606 in Northridge, Calif., and at Henson Studios in Hollywood.

The recent album also marks the debut of new singer William DuVall, who replaced original singer Layne Staley after he died from a drug overdose in 2002.

Alice in Chains is headed to the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on March 20th, 2010.
