Totally Bulls 80s!!!

November 19th, 2009  |  Filed under: Jack's Music Beat

We knew the Bulls had some range outside of the paint, but how were we to know of the vocal range on this year’s squad. This video via NBA.com expresses the total 80s jams that get the team pumped up. From Joakim Noah’s anguish-filled “Jessies Girl” to Luol Deng’s rendition of “Fame”, there is no question this team can bring it on the mic.

Our personal favorite is probably Kirk Henrich singing “Up Where We Belong” or D-Rose yelling “Ghostbusters” at the camera.

It doesn’t matter which one you choose to rock on your A-track, you can’t go wrong here.

Just in case you missed the Jay Leno Show last night, Frank Caliendo went Jaywalking, and it was hilarious. Don’t forget that you can see Frank Caliendo at Jack’s Cheap Christmas on Thursday, December 10th at Allstate Arena…buy your tickets before it’s too late!

Dead or Alive pretty much captures the idea of British New Wave that teens at the time couldn’t get enough of. The band’s song “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” shot all the way to #1 in the UK and then did the same stateside.  They had minor success afterwards, which we personally find hard to believe, considering the video for “You Spin Me Round” was pretty much the coolest thing ever.

We know what you’re thinking, “but Jack, how do you know I’ll like this music video?”

Well, do you enjoy unnecessary eye-patches and multiple appendages? Does the idea of dancing in front of a colorful elementary-school-picture-day background excite you? Do you enjoy singers whose gender is questionable? Can you rock massive amounts of hair on a regular basis?

If you answered yes to at least two of these, this video is for you.

We pity the Xmas…

None of us here at JACK are quite ready to “deck” any “halls”, but when we found this picture on the interweb of Mr. T playing Santa Claus to former first lady Nancy Reagan, we couldn’t really pass it up.

If you want to get into the holiday spirit, we suggest checking out JACK’s CHEAP CHRISTMAS show on December 10th, 2009 at the Allstate Arena.

It’s a lot less tacky than blinking lights all over your lawn before you even pull the Turkey out of the oven…

Players Who Killed Your Fantasy Football Team

November 18th, 2009  |  Filed under: Daily Post

As we enter into Week 11 of the NFL season, our hometown team is pretty much gasping for air in the gutter so most football fans have turned complete attention away from the Bears and onto their fantasy teams.

ZonerSports.com has put together a list of some of the players this season who many of you chose as high prospects and have turned out to be total busts. The lucky 8 include Ladanian Tomlinson, Darren McFadden, and our own Jay Cutler.

Are there any that they missed? Leave your least valuable players in the comments.

Check out Frank Caliendo, who will perform at Jack’s Cheap Christmas, tonight on the Jay Leno Show on NBC at 9PM Central Time. Check out some recent hilarious videos from Frank below!

“It was three great nights for the band and for me personally it was very exciting to be back opening a new stadium on the site of the old Shea Stadium where we had played 44 years previously. Even more exciting because this time round you could hear us!”- Paul McCartney

The Who may be performing at Super Bowl XLIV in Miami for their first North American show since 2008. According to Sports Illustrated’s website, the band is scheduled to play during football’s greatest spectacle on February 7, though the performance has yet to be confirmed by the NFL.

The Super Bowl’s halftime show is one of the biggest entertainment events around, and is broadcast to millions around the world. The Who now includes only two of its original members, frontman Roger Daltrey and composer/guitarist Pete Townshend, with Keith Moon passing away in 1978 and John Entwistle dying in 2002.

The two remaining members have been working on new material for the band’s follow-up to 2006’s Endless Wire, according to Billboard.com. Daltrey is currently on his Use It or Lose It solo tour, which kicked off on October 10 and runs through the end of this month. Daltrey recently had to cancel a show in Baltimore due to throat problems.
