Sammy Hagar’s manager has dismissed reports that the former Van Halen frontman will be replacing Steven Tyler in Aerosmith during Tyler’s stint in rehab. Hagar’s manager, John Carter, told Classic Rock magazine that the “Led Zep gig conflicts with the Aerosmith job . . . Seriously, Sam is very happy to be going into the studio with Chickenfoot to start the second album in April.”

Since Tyler announced that he was taking a hiatus and went into a substance abuse rehab program last year, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and his bandmates have been seeking to replace Tyler in the band. Perry has noted that the band would also consider a female to take Tyler’s place as Aerosmith’s lead singer.

The band has reportedly approached Billy Idol, Paul Rodgers and Chris Cornell for the spot. Lenny Kravitz, who was reportedly approached first, has publicly stated that he will not replace Tyler.

Bon Jovi has added two more dates to their month-long residency at London’s O2 Arena, with Kid Rock signing on to be the opening act. The New Jersey band will now play a total of 13 shows during their time in London, which will kick off June 7.

The two extra Bon Jovi shows featuring Kid Rock will take place on June 25 and 26. “There are very few bands in the world that can sell out this many dates at one venue and we haven’t stopped yet,” AEG Live President of International Touring Rob Hallett said in a statement.

“As a promoter, you listen to the fans,” Hallett continued. “And if the demand is there, you can do something as big of this. We’ve been listening and it’s a deafening roar out there.”

Bon Jovi’s London residency is part of the group’s Circle tour, which kicks off tomorrow in Hawaii and will see the group spend nearly two years on the road.
